AMX® was named one of the top 25 medium-sized companies to work for in America at the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM) 59th Annual Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas. This is the second year in a row that the company has been included in the organization’s prestigious national ranking and the second time this year that AMX has been recognized as a “Best Place to Work”. Last month, the Dallas Business Journal named AMX a Best Place to Work in Dallas – Fort Worth, an honor bestowed upon the company for the fourth year in a row.
The Best Places to Work Award lists ranks the top 25 small and the top 25 medium-sized companies in America. The organizations, ranging in size from 50 to 999 employees, were announced by SHRM and selected and ranked by the Great Place to Work® Institute (GPTW) , which works with FORTUNE Magazine, HR Magazine and other leading publications in 29 countries around the world to publish and recognize employer excellence. The results were based on employee opinion surveys along with evaluations by the Great Places to Work Institute. Each company evaluated was given a score based on employees’ responses to a detailed questionnaire about the organizations’ workplace cultures. “AMX experienced many exciting milestones and changes since last year’s Best Places to Work in America ranking – including acquiring four companies, nearly doubling in size and celebrating our 25th year in business. While I am proud that we have kept our core culture and values in tact during a period of rapid growth, this achievement is not accidental. AMX strongly believes that a company’s culture is just as important as its intellectual property, and we hold each of the companies we acquire to a very high litmus test,” said Rashid Skaf, AMX president and CEO. “As we grow even more in the future, I have every confidence that our corporate culture – which encourages individual expression, forward-thinking, mutual respect and fun – will remain in tact.” Steve Byars, Vice President of Administration, accepted this year’s award and reinforced Skaf’s message. “The secret of AMX’s success is that we always treat people with respect. This includes our customers, employees, and business partners. Our most important corporate value is to be a good corporate citizen. This defines AMX today and well into the future.” In 2006, AMX acquired and successfully integrated AutoPatch®, a leading manufacturer of high-performance audio/video signal switching and distribution equipment, Endeleo, a manufacturer of TV and multi-format media distribution technologies, and Matrix Audio Designs, Inc., a manufacturer of high-quality, multi-room distributed audio systems. Last week, the company announced that it acquired Inspiration Matters, a manufacturer of digital signage solutions. In addition to these acquisitions, AMX continues to enhance its leadership position through new research and development, and sales and marketing programs to deliver even greater value to its customers and partners.
