by: AMX | Richardson,TX | June 08, 2005

AMX Corporation, a worldwide leader in advanced control system technology, today announced that Rashid Skaf has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company and will serve on the AMX Board of Directors. On September 30, 2005, Bob Carroll, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AMX, will step down from his position at the company, at which time Skaf will assume the role of CEO. Carroll will return to his consulting practice as Chairman and CEO of Roscommon Ltd., which specializes in turnarounds, acquisitions and divestitures. Additionally, Carroll will join the Investment Advisory Board of Duchossois Technology Partners, a venture capital firm affiliated with AMX's new parent company, Duchossois Industries Inc.

"Rashid Skaf is a great business leader and partner. He is the right person to guide AMX as it executes the next phase of its growth plan," said Carroll. "My focus when I joined AMX four years ago was to restructure and rejuvenate the company. I'm pleased to say that we have not only accomplished these goals, we have positioned AMX to expand its leadership role within the industry. Rashid's proven success in developing award-winning products and customer-centric initiatives will help guide AMX in new strategic directions."

I'm extremely honored that Bob and the Duchossois leadership team have asked me to take this position," said Skaf. "These are exciting times offering remarkable opportunities for AMX. With the support of our new parent company, Duchossois Industries, we have embarked on aggressive growth initiatives in the areas of product development, talent recruiting, sales and marketing. I'm very optimistic about the innovative new programs we are creating to address new and evolving marketplace needs. These programs will accelerate our growth and contribute significantly to the growth of our dealers, distributors and partners."

Carroll was named Chairman and CEO of AMX in 2001, after serving on AMX's Board of Directors. Skaf was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President in 2003, after serving as Vice President of Marketing for AMX since 2001. Under Carroll's and Skaf's leadership, the company achieved excellent financial performance in large part due to substantially increased investment in research and development, marketing and sales programs, and customer service initiatives.

When Duchossois Industries took the company private in April 2005, it stated that it intended to further enhance AMX's market leadership position by committing even more investment to research and development and acquisition programs. In its latest fiscal year as a public company, AMX committed over 10 percent of its net revenues to research and engineering efforts, which percentage will be increased substantially in the current and future years.

"AMX is a high performance organization with all of the key fundamentals that make a business successful -- excellent leadership, exceptional sales and marketing programs, leading technology, a customer-focused approach, and most importantly, strong core values," said Craig Duchossois, CEO of Duchossois Industries. "We recognize Bob Carroll for his leadership role in returning AMX to prominence and we are most pleased to have him join us at Duchossois Technology Partners."

"All of Duchossois Industries' businesses have attained their number one market positions through the relentless focus on the customer, and an uncompromised commitment to the development of innovative products and services," Duchossois continued. "Of course, none of this matters without visionary leadership and energetic and creative employees. It is clear AMX has both, and Rashid is the ideal leader to guide the strong AMX team as the company enters a new era of growth and opportunity."

The business community has honored AMX numerous times over the past several years. The Dallas Morning News recently included AMX in its 11th Annual "Fast Track Company List," which distinguishes 20 out of the top 200 public companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for their outstanding performance in the areas of sales growth, profit growth, stock price appreciation and return on assets.

Within the same month, another Dallas-Fort Worth-based publication, the Dallas Business Journal, ranked AMX first among mid-size companies as the "Best Place to Work" in the Metroplex. Employees completed surveys noting the company's professional development, corporate culture, teamwork, benefits and leadership. In recognition of his outstanding leadership in the technology industry, Bob Carroll was honored as "Corporate CEO of the Year" in 2004 by the Metroplex Technology Business Council, Dallas-Fort Worth's most prominent technology organization.

AMX also continues to receive many honors from industry organizations and publications for its innovative Modero®, MAX, MeetingManager® and NetLinx&Reg; product lines -- yet another way the Company continues to distinguish itself from the competition.

AMX is exhibiting at InfoComm 2005, the audiovisual communications' industry's largest trade show, where the company will unveil many exciting new innovations that enhance the company's strategy in the areas of device, asset and content control.
