Richard L. Duchossois is the founder and Chairman of Duchossois Industries, Inc. Dick graduated from Morgan Park Military Academy and was attending Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, when he was called to active military service. He served in five European campaigns and was awarded various citations before being released from active service as a Major in 1946.
From 1952-1980, Dick was Chief Executive Officer of Thrall Car Manufacturing Company, one of the nation’s leading rail car manufacturers. In 1980, he purchased Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp. and became its Chairman. In 1983, as Chairman of Duchossois Industries, Inc., he purchased Arlington Park Race Track, and led its resurrection after a disastrous fire in 1985.
In 2000, Arlington Park merged with Churchill Downs Incorporated, where Dick and two of his officers currently sit on the Board of Directors.
Craig J. Duchossois is Chief Executive Officer of Duchossois Industries, Inc., a privately held company headquartered in Elmhurst, IL.
The principal operating companies are The Chamberlain Group, Inc. (garage door openers, gate operators and related access control products); AMX LLC (advanced control and automation technology for commercial and residential markets); Durasol Systems LLC (retractable awnings); and Duchossois Technology Partners, LLC (an early-stage venture capital company). While the various companies owned or associated with Duchossois Industries operate independently, a small corporate team provides strategic support, access to capital and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Craig serves on the Board of Directors of Churchill Downs, Inc. His not-for-profit board memberships include Culver Educational Foundation, Illinois Institute of Technology, University of Chicago, Kellogg Graduate School of Management, World Business Chicago, the University of Chicago Hospitals and the Executive’s Club of Chicago. Additionally, he is a member of the Chief Executives’ Organization, the World Presidents’ Organization, the Commercial Club and the Economic Club. Craig is the Chairman, Board of Visitors for the United States Naval Academy.
Craig holds a BBA and MBA from Southern Methodist University, and served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Robert L. Fealy is Executive Vice President of Duchossois Industries, Inc., a privately-held company headquartered in Elmhurst, IL, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AMX, and the Managing Director of Duchossois Technology Partners, an venture capital firm that invests in early-stage, technology-based companies. He serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Churchill Downs, Inc., a NASDAQ listed company. He also serves on the Boards of The Chamberlain Group, Pella Corporation, and Brivo Systems. He is a founding Board member of the Illinois Venture Capital Association and Treasurer of the IVCA-PAC.
Prior to joining Duchossois, Bob served in several senior roles at Cummins Engine Company, including Vice President of Business Strategy and Treasurer. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati (BBA 1973) and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the Executives’ Club of Chicago, and the Union League Club. He is a Trustee of the University of Cincinnati Foundation, a member of the UC Business Advisory Council, a lifetime member of the UC Alumni Association and West Suburban Chair of the Greater Chicago Committee for UC.
Michael E. Flannery Michael E. Flannery is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Duchossois Industries, Inc., a privately-held company headquartered in Elmhurst, IL. He previously was the Chief Executive Officer of Trinity Rail Group, LLC, a leading designer and manufacturer of rail cars for the North American and European markets.
Mike has also served as Vice Chairman of Thrall Car, a predecessor company to Trinity Rail, and as Chief Administrative Officer of Duchossois Industries, Inc. He also was Corporate Counsel for Cummins Engine Company of Columbus, Indiana and began his career as a lawyer with the Chicago firm of Burke, Griffin, Chomicz and Wienke. Mr. Flannery received his B.S. degree in Finance from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois and graduated cum laude from Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana.
Mike serves on the Boards of Duchossois and its affiliates The Chamberlain Group, Inc., AMX LLC and Duchossois Technology Partners, and the Board of Visitors for the Indiana University School of Law. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and the Executives Club of Chicago.
